Chuck LaPeters, founder of New Horizons – Go Retractable, embarked on his entrepreneurial journey in January 2003, driven by a vision sparked by a chance encounter with retractable screens featured on an HGTV show. Intrigued, Chuck started doing some research into retractable screens. He recognized the burgeoning potential of the retractable products industry, which was still in its infancy at the time, and in January 2003, New Horizons was born.

Drawing from a robust background in corporate sales, customer service, purchasing, IT, and management, Chuck honed the skills and expertise necessary to lay the foundation for a successful business. This extensive corporate experience provided him with a deep understanding of client needs and operational excellence, essential in delivering top-notch service and products.

Starting from scratch, Chuck initially assumed multiple roles within New Horizons, from sales and purchasing to installation and office management. With support from his wife Patty, who contributed part-time to marketing and finance while managing her own business, Chuck navigated the early challenges of establishing and growing his company. This grassroots beginning provided invaluable insights into every aspect of the business and the industry, laying a solid foundation for New Horizons’ success.

Chuck has cultivated relationships with nearly every major retractable screen manufacturer in the US, selecting only the most reliable and highest-quality products to offer his clients. His reputation for delivering on-time and on-budget has led New Horizons to become a trusted partner for prestigious custom home builders throughout Central Florida. His retractable screens adorn award-winning Parade of Homes residences, local attractions like Walt Disney World, and numerous celebrity homes. He even had a full circle moment, where New Horizons installed retractable screens for the TV show My Yard Goes Disney, on HGTV! This breadth of experience has equipped Chuck with a keen ability to navigate challenges and make informed recommendations, ensuring each client’s vision for their outdoor living space is fully realized.

Active within the industry, New Horizons is a member of the Greater Orlando Builders Association and is a Gold Sponsor of the prestigious Master Custom Builders Council. Chuck regularly attends industry events such as the International Builders Show and the Southeast Builders Conference to foster collaborations with custom home builders and stay abreast of innovations and emerging product trends.

Chuck’s favorite part of his job is engaging with New Horizons’ diverse clientele, listening to their project vision, and helping them achieve it. He takes pride in leading a cohesive team of office and installation professionals known for their expertise and camaraderie.

Outside of work, Chuck loves spending quality time with his wife Patty and daughter Taylor. He also finds relaxation on his boat, being out on the water and enjoying the Florida lifestyle.
